Le Spitfire PR.XI PL983 repeint aux couleurs de l'USAAF « My Darling Dorothy ».

L'Aircraft Restoration Company, basée à Duxford, a repeint son Spitfire PR. XI PL983 aux couleurs de l'USAAF, en hommage aux unités de reconnaissance photographique américaines de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. La livrée choisie est celle du PA892, « My Darling Dorothy », piloté par le 14th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron, 7th Photographic Reconnaissance Group, basé à Mount Farm, dans l'Oxfordshire. Bien qu'on ignore encore combien de temps l'appareil gardera cette livrée, l'ARC a laissé entendre qu'elle pourrait être conservée pour la saison des meetings aériens de 2027. The chosen scheme was of PA892, 'My Darling Dorothy', flown by the 14th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron, 7th Photographic Reconnaissance Group, based at Mount Farm, Oxfordshire.
